Weight-Gain Rate Calculator

Turn your current body weight into a conservative weekly and monthly gain range for a controlled muscle-building phase. This is a monitoring tool—not a promise that a particular percentage of weight gained will be muscle.

Calculate a weight-gain range

Why slower is often useful

Muscle growth is limited by training status, genetics, recovery and time. A very large calorie surplus can make scale weight rise quickly without proportionally increasing muscle gain. More experienced lifters generally have less remaining potential for rapid lean-mass gain, which is why this tool recommends a slower rate as experience increases.

Measure the trend correctly

  1. Weigh under similar conditions, ideally in the morning.
  2. Use a 7-day average rather than reacting to one weigh-in.
  3. Compare weekly averages over several weeks.
  4. Keep waist measurement and gym performance alongside scale weight.
  5. Adjust calories gradually when the trend is clearly outside your target.

Do not chase the calculator

Water, glycogen, sodium, food volume and digestion can move scale weight faster than tissue changes. The purpose of the range is to keep your gaining phase controlled enough that you can make evidence-informed adjustments.
