What estimated 1RM is good for

It gives you a repeatable strength marker without maximal testing every week. It can help track performance trends, compare sets performed at different rep counts and choose rough loading zones.

What it cannot tell you

An estimated 1RM is not the same as a tested 1RM. Exercise technique, rep speed, fatigue, range of motion and proximity to failure all influence the prediction. For hypertrophy, you also do not need to train at a particular percentage of 1RM for every exercise.
